The Slavic Cross Stitch provides a perfect reverse side to be worked from the right side only. Thus, just as in the case of Persian and shaggy carpets, when well done, do not need linings.

Begin with a single Cross Stitch (fig.1 and 2). Use the next mesh, as shown under fig. 3, forming a long stitch. Return to the foregoing hole to complete a new cross-stitch (fig.4). Now go the next mesh to form another long stitch and so continue stitching successively until completing the row.
