MEDIEVAL Stitch

It is an ideal stitch for panels, because it is a straight, upright stitch that allows the execution of panels with a perfect drape. It is one of the oldest stitches employed in the production of wall tapestries.

The MEDIEVAL stitch is a straight stitch, worked with the needle in diagonal forwards as well as backwards along the row.

A thinner mesh must be used for this stitch, such as, for example the GOBLIN canvas.

To complete the borders of the canvas, where half stitches are left over between one stitch and another, make a small straight-line stitch to cover the spaces. (Fig. 6)
